About the Job

The Field Application Engineer will be responsible for offering customer engineering and development support. This position works with Sales, Product Development, and the Marketing Team to develop new customer targets and markets. They will interface with Engineering, Quality, Project Management, and Customer Service teams to communicate customer needs and follow up on open action items, provide first-response support on customer support and technical backup when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical product and applications support to Global Telecom sales team and customers at all stages of the engagement process from presale to post sales and deployment support.
  • FAE support includes solution recommendations, system architecture guidance, helping to communicate technical value proposition to customers, schematic review, customer site for qualification.
  • Effective communicator between product lines, sales, and the customer; as a trusted customer advocate, FAE’s must have the confidence and persuasive skills to earn the respect of engineering leaders both internally and with the customer.
  • Regular product updates and training to customers, sales, and distribution.
  • Attend trade shows and relevant conferences.
  • Delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Creating and executing winning evaluations and driving technical engagements to success and business win.
  • Performing beta testing and collaborating with R&D and Marketing to assist and shape product direction.
  • Establish and maintain an organized inventory of product literature and samples.
  • Collect competitive data and reports to Sales and Marketing.

Qualifications /Skills:

  • Compelling communicator that can champion customers to an internal audience and advocate for the company to the customer.
  • Solid Problem-Solving methodology
  • A passionate and curious technologist with an ability to learn and adapt to industry trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience utilizing customer relationship management software.
  • Experience using compliance software.

  • 5G, LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi, VT, IMS, TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, RTCP, SCTP
  • Tools: Wireshark, TShark, JTAG, Qualcomm QXDM
  • OS: Windows, Linux, Android, MAC
  • Bug Resolution: JIRA, Bugzilla, Prism, ICE Servers, Kamailio, FreeSWITCH
  • Software: Python, Agile, waterfall and Hybrid, Product full life cycle development, A/B Testing, Git, perforce, Jenkins, CD & CI, Selenium
  • Hardware: R&S CMW500, Comprion IT3, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator
  • QUALCOMM chipset background
  • Certification: PTCR/GCF, FCC and other certifications bodies.
  • Education: Minimum of BS in EE. Preferred MS in EE/CS
